LANDLORD AND TENANT BOARD INCREASES PRICE
The jurisdictional limit for claims in both Small Claims Court and at the Landlord and Tenant Board will be increasing from $10,000 to $25,000 effective January 1, 2010.

THE NEW ACT: RESIDENTIAL TENANCIES ACT
The Residential Tenancies Act came into affect on January 31, 2007. The Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal will now be called the Landlord and Tenant Board under the new act. Landlords will need to become familiar with the changes in order to be effective managers of their properties. The changes will impact how you do business in Ontario. Don't be surprised if you move to evict a tenant and find yourself defending against a tenant application.
